Budmat PV Systems at Energy Expo Bucharest: A Strong Presence at the Heart of Europe's Energy Transition

From May 22-24, 2025, Budmat PV Systems, a leader in high-quality solutions for large-scale solar investments, proudly participated in the Energy Expo in Bucharest.

This event, a key gathering in the European RES industry, attracted hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors from across the region.

Technology from Poland Captures European Attention

At the Budmat PV Systems stand, we showcased a wide range of solutions supporting solar energy development, including agri-ground structures and solutions for large-scale PV farms. Conversations with investors, installers, and business partners confirmed the Romanian market's increasing demand for quality, availability, and flexible delivery, for which Budmat PV Systems is renowned.

"For us, being present at the fair is not just about promoting our offerings; it's a genuine opportunity to co-create the green transformation in Central and Eastern Europe", says Marek Wiśniewski, COO Budmat PV Systems.

Romania: A New Leader in Green Transition and Energy Self-Consumption

It's noteworthy that Romania is at the forefront of European RES growth. The government recently launched a €310 million support program for companies, with a total investment of €1.4 billion planned under REPowerEU. These initiatives aim to boost energy independence and develop local renewables.

The country also plans to build Europe's largest solar power plant, with a capacity of 2,800 MW, scheduled to be operational in 2026.

Romania's Ministry of Energy has announced a second call for projects under a program supporting investments in new renewable electricity generation capacity for businesses' own needs. This tendering procedure targets economic operators - companies and municipalities - looking to implement sustainable projects with a direct impact on energy independence and carbon emission reduction. Public aid will be provided as a reimbursement of eligible costs, up to a maximum of €20 million per company and per investment project.

Romania's Minister of Energy emphasised that energy storage is a national energy policy priority, with a government goal to reach 1,000 MW of storage capacity within two years.

Modern Romania: A Country of Transformation, Innovation, and Hospitality

During our visit, we witnessed firsthand the enormous economic and social transformation Romania has undergone since the late 20th century. These changes are evident not only in the dynamic growth of the renewable energy sector but also in modernising infrastructure, expanding road networks, and increasing industrial and technological potential.

Romania has successfully transitioned from a centrally planned to a market economy, attracting foreign investors and developing its production and service facilities. This is also reflected in society's increasing involvement in environmental initiatives and the population's growing energy awareness.

These developments establish Romania as a significant player in the RES market and a country with great potential for innovation and development. It is successfully building its position in Central and Eastern Europe as a place conducive to investment and modern technologies.

Furthermore, we must mention the excellent Romanian cuisine, vibrant music, and extraordinary hospitality of the local people, which made our stay not only a professional business experience but also a real pleasure.

We extend our thanks to the organisers of the Energy Expo WALDEVAR Energy for an excellently prepared event and an inspiring space for dialogue on the future of renewable energy. It was professional, inspiring, and filled with positive energy. We hope this is just the beginning of our cooperation on spectacular projects!
